The online applications are invited for allotment of seat in respect of post Metric (SSLC) Level, Post Plus Two Level, and Post undergraduate (Bachelor's) Degree Level courses for the academic year 2023- 2024 from 25th May 2023 onwards. The last date for the submission of online application for post Metric (SSLC) Level, Post Plus Two Level and Post undergraduate (Bachelor's) Degree Level courses is 15th June 2023. The aspiring candidates are directed to apply online by accessing the NIC e-counselling website https://ecounselling.utl.gov.in. Candidates are requested to read the instructions carefully before filling the application to ensure their eligibility for different courses as per the rules laid down by the Lakshadweep Administration (available at above e-counselling website) for the allotment of seat for higher studies at Mainland Centres and Lakshadweep Centres.


    The Principals of Senior Secondary Schools in respective Islands and Education Officer at Lakshadweep Office, Kochi are the Registration Officers for online e-counselling process for the academic year 2023-24. All the applicants who are interested to register for online counselling in respect of higher education seat allotment shall register their names online in respective category of counselling and take print copy of the application and shall submit to the respective Registration officers along with the following self-attested documents for the purpose as the case may be.

1. Schedule Tribe Certificate.
2. 10 Standard Pass Certificate and Mark Statements.
3. 12th Pass Certificate and Mark Statements.
4. Undergraduate (Bachelor's) Degree Certificate and Mark Statements.
5. Birth Certificate etc.

    The Registration officer may consolidate the applications received by them and shall verify the online applications submitted by the candidates. No Officer other than the Principal/Head Master of Senior Secondary Schools and Education Officer Kochi are authorized to receive the hard copy of filled application(s).

The following are the instructions to Registration Officers:

i) While receiving the hard copy print out of online application for verifications by the Registration. Officers and shall ensure that, no applications other than that of son/daughter, legally adopted son or daughter of local inhabitant of Lakshadweep / employees of Lakshadweep Administration/ employees of such organizations who are working under Lakshadweep Administration /employees of Central Government, Public sector undertaking etc. which are having registered offices in Lakshadweep and having their headquarters in the Island and the ward has studied at least for one year in a School / College situated in Lakshadweep shall be accepted. The provisions of Lakshadweep seat allotment rule in force shall be applicable.

ii) All employees other than the ethnic native of Lakshadweep should invariably attach a copy of services certificate of parent (Father or Mother) as well as detailed certificate about their ward's studies in the Island Schools / Colleges in support of their claim for priority category, failing which, their claim will not be considered.

The instructions to the students who aspire for seat for higher education in Mainland/Lakshadweep Centres, are given hereunder: 

i) The candidate shall complete their online application for respective eligible category in the website (https://ecounselling.ut.gov.in) within the time stipulations. 

ii) The candidate shall verify the provisional checklist/rank list generated by NIC portal. The discrepancy (if any) shall be brought to the knowledge of respective Registration Officer for scrutiny and rectifications, if needed. 

iii) The candidate shall verify the final rank list to respective category published by the NIC in the course of time.

iv) The candidate shall follow the updates published in e-counselling website (https://ecounselling.utl.gov.in) and Lakshadweep Official website (www.lakshadweep.gov.in). Further, the candidate shall also follow the SMS alert on registered mobile number for the purpose.

v) The candidate shall be given with an option to change the counselling centre during the course of publication of final rank list for respective category from time to time.

vi) The list of courses in each category will be updated in the e-counselling website for the year 2023-24 before the publication of final rank list. The candidate shall follow the same.

vii) The candidate shall be prepared with regard to the choices of courses in respective category and shall be aware of availability of seats in respective college/institution/university and the facility available in terms of college infrastructure, hostel facility and accessibility etc in advance. 

viii) A mock online counselling may be conducted in respective category at counselling centres for the awareness of the candidates. The candidate or his/her representative may also consult the Registration Officer at respective Islands/Kochi as the case may be for clarifications, if any.

ix) A maximum of five (5) minutes shall be given for a candidate during the actual online counselling to avoid any delay in the process. If the candidate fails to exercise his/her choice within 5 minutes (count down comes to zero) the software will reject the candidate's chance and candidate will be allowed to select the course and subject only after completing the whole students listed for online counselling for the day.

x) The candidate shall reach for the online counselling Centres in Islands/Kochi by following date and time slot as per their merit position in respective category. The candidate shall reach well in advance at respective centre for counselling.

xi) The online generated Sponsoring Letter in respect of candidate(s) for particular course selected by the candidate can be received from the respective Registration Officer enabling the candidate to take admission in due course of time prescribed by the College/institution/University for the academic year. Further, it will be the sole responsibility of the candidate to take admission within the time stipulation notified by the respective College/institution/University for the particular academic session. Once sponsoring letter is issued to a candidate, then, the candidate shall not be allowed to attend further counselling in other eligible category for the academic session 2023-24.
